Cape Ann Savings Bank Welcomes Margaret Vanderpool, CFA

Gloucester, MA, Thursday, March 18, 2026 – Cape Ann Savings Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Margaret (Peggy) Vanderpool. Peggy joins the Bank’s Trust & Financial Services Department in the position of Trust Officer, bringing with her over 30 years of financial services experience, specializing in portfolio management, investment strategy, and estate planning.

Peggy’s career in finance began as a global investment officer with HSBC Asset Management where she worked in various functional areas of the business (equity/debt/emerging markets portfolio management, business development, and quantitative research). She later worked at AllianceBernstein covering US equities and at Newton Capital as a hedge fund portfolio manager, before embarking on a career as a financial consultant while raising her children. Peggy’s years and experience in her field has brought her all over the globe, living both in the United States and abroad, leading her back to her hometown, Rockport, MA.

When asked about joining the Cape Ann Savings Trust & Financial Services team Peggy states, “I am thrilled to be joining Cape Ann Savings Trust & Financial Services and grateful for the opportunity to share my experience in investment management with clients. I also look forward to engaging with the community, by being active with the schools, arts, and athletics.”

Peggy earned her MBA from Columbia Business School and an MIA (Master’s in International Affairs) from Columbia University. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a professional certification which she has proudly held since 2000.

While abroad Peggy became involved in water polo through her son and remains actively involved in the sport. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and reading. Peggy resides in Rockport MA, with her husband and two children.
