Cape Ann Artisans Ready for a Fun Fall Tour
Cape Ann Artisans Ready for a Fun Fall Tour
14 Studios Open October 11-12 10AM-5PM
After a productive summer and a mini-Tour that included about half of its members, the full group of fourteen Cape Ann Artisans look forward to welcoming visitors into their studios Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12 for the annual Fall Tour. As the seasons change, artists find new inspiration in nature’s colorful transformations. Many artisans have been exploring new territories – artistically as well as geographically – finding new techniques and interacting with new audiences including visitors, collectors, and art students of all ages. Here’s a quick peek at the latest news from some of the artists on the tour.
- Adding yet another dimension to her work, Pam Stratton is pleased to announce that her new driftwood mosaic sculpture has been accepted into the New England Mosaic Society’s “Ten Years on the Cutting Edge” exhibition at Duxbury’s Art Complex Museum open through November 2nd.
- In his latest blog, John Abisamra shares more about his love for landscapes and wildlife. His photo “The Pink Hour” was awarded first place in the Essex National Heritage Photo contest in the Great Outdoors category. But sometimes people are in the right place at the right time. On Stacey Boulevard, he captured two teenage girls spontaneously acting out the “I’m Flying” scene from the Titanic movie. The photo called “Play Time” was recently published in the summer issue of the Cape Ann Magazine.
- Contemporary painter and experimental artist Sinikka Nogelo is once again expanding her work, the latest of which she is doing in ink. She describes her “new explorations, and new audiences” in her latest blog. Sinikka has recently installed her sculpture “Tangled” at Salem State University’s north campus.
