Description
Through its collection of artwork and artifacts, the Cape Ann Museum tells multiple stories, all relating to a single remarkable place. As you explore the galleries, discover the collection’s many stories with docent-led mini gallery tours or “shorts.” Want to learn more about the artist Fitz Henry Lane, the Folly Cove Designers or Cape Ann’s maritime and granite industry? Drop in and listen for as little or long as you like!
The following Winter Shorts will be offered at the following times in the CAM Galleries. Winter Shorts generally run for 20-25 minutes, so you’ll have time to find the next topic!

What is a docent?
Docents are community volunteers who have knowledge of Cape Ann history and of the Museum’s artwork and artifacts on display. These volunteers receive training through the Museum’s Docent Program. Docents lead highlight tours of the Museum’s collection and a variety of other specialty tours.
Interested in becoming a docent? The Museum offers docent training at key intervals. Email Head of Education & Engagement Miranda Aisling at mirandaaisling@capeannmuseum.org to get updates about our next offerings.
