Description
The Sound of Memory, an evening of choreographic and musical meditations on time, loss, and the fragile beauty and wonder of life. Featuring dances created and performed by former lead dancer with the Paul Taylor Company, Annmaria Mazzini, along with Jennifer Chin, Jennifer Mabus, Brynt Beitman, and Amanda Stevenson. Music created and performed by Paula Jeanine Bennett and Brittani Nearing. Lighting Design by Bridget Welty. Performed at The Windhover Center for the Arts; Thursday, August 28 and Friday, August 29, 7 PM. A brief discussion and question and answer session with the artists will take place immediately following the performance.
Annmaria Mazzini curates an evening of choreographic and musical meditations about the passage of time, caregiving, loss, and moving through life with a sense of awe. Featuring the collective works of a small company of dancers and musicians renowned for their capacity to provoke thought and generate healing, 'The Sound of Memory' explores questions of where in the body memory resides, what haunts us, and what sustains us.
