Description
“Do you remember Manchester when…?” Your Manchester-by-the-Sea Memories, Stories, & Unforgettable Characters! Part of the 375th Celebration of Manchester-by-the-Sea
Who can forget Floyd’s Candy Shop, walking on the library wall, when Capt. Dusty’s didn’t sell ice cream but the freshest fish around? Your family memories, your family members, are part of the town’s history. Let’s share these tales before they are forgotten or haven’t been handed down!
Storytelling Session Tuesday, February 18th 2-3:30 PM with renowned Storyteller, Elisa Pearmain, the workshop for learning how to create and share stories based on Community, Town, and Family memories. Pearmain will lead with examples, techniques, and activities for adults and children aged 9 and older to start the memory sharing.
With a town 375 years old, we have a lot of events, characters, and memories to recall! This day is limited to 24 participants and will require registration at the library. Encourage your grandparents, parents, Aunt, Brother, etc to sign up so we have lots of great stories.
Saturday, February 22, 2-4 PM Elisa Pearmain will lead with a story to start the sharing, then participants from Tuesday who would like to share will offer the memories and stories they have worked on. The public is invited to this event and there will be a great sense of community as we recall both days recent and long ago in our tales.
Light refreshments will be provided both days.
