Stirring original composition -- Chorus North Shore, Presto Festival Orchestra
Chorus North Shore will present a powerful choral work to mark the new millennium. This stirring, immersive piece, written by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, debuted in Royal Albert Hall in London, April 2000, with National Chorus and Orchestra accompaniment. This composition uses religious themes, in addition to 15th-century music, to counterpoint the extreme loss and guilt that result from war. Part prayer, part warning, ultimately delivering a message for those searching for peace. A video will be shown accompanying the performance (imagery that some viewers may find unsettling).
