Join members of Cape Ann Big Band’s “Swingtet”, a 13-piece orchestra featuring vocalist Rhiannon Hurst as they cue the call to the dance floor this winter! Formed in December 2010, director Carlos Menezes Jr. teamed up with friends and fellow musicians to discuss the potentials of starting up an 18-piece big band. What was once a dream, quickly became reality when Menezes found the roster full in just a week’s time. Driven by the talents of Cape Ann musicians, the Cape Ann Big Band Swingtet prides itself in performing to entertain and connect with its local community! The group's diverse songbook spans genres of jazz, blues, funk, soul, pop, disco, calypso, bossa nova, R&B, and reggae! “In just a short span of time, the Cape Ann Big Band has become one of the most sought after ensembles in the North Shore and Greater Boston area” - Gloucester Daily Times
