DESCRIPTION:Local artist Liam Anastasia-Murphy will perform a 45-minute set followed by a brief discussion about his musical career and his approach to songwriting.  \n\n\n\nAfter cutting his teeth on the indie folk scene of Richmond\, Virginia\, Anastasia-Murphy returned home to Cape Ann in 2019. It was here that he started a musical project known as Surnames. Liam released two EPs in 2020\, falling squarely into jean jacket\, Fender-guitar\, and indie rock genres. Three new singles were released in 2022 that started to showcase a burgeoning fascination with electronic production and sampling while still remaining in the indie sphere. Anastasia-Murphy has been streamed over a quarter of a million times across various platforms\, added to and featured on thousands of playlists\, including Spotify's Fresh Finds Indie\, and even used in a Netflix show.
