DESCRIPTION:Gloucester\, MA:  On Saturday\, March 30th\, from 4-8pm and Sunday\, March 31st\, from 1-4pm\, the Artist Studios at 196 Main Street are hosting a Pop-Up Show\, showcasing handcrafted fine jewelry\, photography and paintings.  Their spring themed show\,"There are always flowers for those that choose to see them"-Henri Matisse\, brings a new\, fresh contemporary vibe to Gloucester\, MA.  Please join them on their opening night\, Saturday March 30th\,for light refreshments. \n\nThe Artists Studios at 196 Main Street has been attracting talented regional fine artists for the past three years. The studios are located adjacent to Charles Fine Arts Gallery and were developed by Jan Charles\, owner of Charles Fine Arts to fulfill the evident need for artist workspace in Gloucester. The current artists include\; Chloe Leigh\, Jewelry Designer\, Vanessa Michalak\, Fine Artist/Painter\, and Katherine Richmond\, Photographer/ Fine Art Printing.\n They are excited to have their studios located in the downtown Gloucester where they will continue to highlight a variety of media and work to ensure that the arts remain a cultural cornerstone in this historic artist community. The artist studios feature workspaces and a gallery\, unveiling the unique processes behind their works.  \n\n\n\nAbout the Artists\n\nChloe Leigh is a fine jeweler who currently resides in Rockport\, MA. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing and sought additional training by attending Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence\, Italy\; Davide Penso Glass Jewels classes in Murano\, Italy\; Marchutz College of Art and Design in Aix-en-Provence\, France\; and The Glass Furnace in Istanbul\, Turkey. She has received several highly prestigious awards including\, the Women's Jewelry Association Award\, the New England Chapter Award from the International Precious Metal Institute\, Stephen D. Paine Award\, and Paul Tsongas Award. Her work has been featured at several exhibitions including the 67 Facets Exhibition at the Society of North American Goldsmiths Exhibition and the Smithsonian.  \n\nVanessa Michalak grew up in Maine before relocating to Boston\, MA where she lived and worked for over a decade. She earned her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting in 2013. She was awarded the Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship in Painting in 2014 and her work was included in New American Paintings #110.   She is currently represented by Portland Art Gallery\, in Portland Maine and has various works on display at Charles Fine Arts in Gloucester\, MA. \n\nKatherine Richmond of Richmond Studios is a multi-disciplined artist who enjoys fine art\, photography\, sculpturing\, oil painting\, and drawing. Since 1993 her photographs have taken part in eight national juried exhibitions and have won fifteen awards\, eleven are from international photographic competitions. Her photos have appeared in publications and are in many private collections across the country.
