SUMMARY:Knights & Ladies Day: The History of Heraldry at Hammond Castle Museum
DESCRIPTION:Bring your little Knights and Ladies to the Hammond Castle Museum for an educational and hands-on introduction to the history of heraldry on Knights and Ladies Day!   This hour-long program on April 20\, is geared towards 7 11 year-olds\, and will be held in the Great Hall of the Museum\, where their imagination can run wild\, just as John Hays Hammond Jr.\, the inventor who built the Castle intended.\n\n\nAfter a short introduction to heraldry from the Museum curator\, your little aristocrats will get the chance to design their very own coat of arms on a shield using symbols and colors that represent each of them individually. Following that will be a chance for little ones to learn about\, see firsthand-and touch-actual chain mail armor\, cloth arming caps\, and even a wooden training sword! \n\nTickets are $10 per adult and $15 per child.  We do ask that only one adult accompany each group of children.  Tickets reservations are required in advance for the 11 am or 1 pm session and available at www.hammondcastle.org.
