SUMMARY:CAMTalk: Exhibition Series - The Art & History of Early Photographic Processes
DESCRIPTION:Artist Patricia Scialo will share her perspective on the historic techniques and contemporary art applications of early photographic processes. Her CAMTalk will trace the history of photography from the first camera obscura through to daguerreotypes and into the glass plate negatives. \n\nPresented in association with Window on the Marsh\, a spotlight exhibition highlighting the work of painter Martin Johnson Heade (1819-1904) and photographer Martha Hale Harvey (1863-1949)\, this talk will contextualize Harvey's work on Cape Ann in the late 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries during the early evolution of photography. Scialo will display an early view camera and share prints that she produced from Martha Hale Harvey's glass plate negatives as part of her White-Ellery House Installation in July 2022.
