DESCRIPTION:This year our Businesswomen's Group is pleased to announce Lt Governor Karyn Polito as our keynote speaker for our Annual Fall Luncheon\, On Thursday\, October 8\, 2015\, at the Gloucester House\, 11:30AM-1:30PM. Tickets are $35. Call the Chammber for more information.\n\nKaryn Polito is the 72nd Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. \n\nShe began her public service in local government serving as a member of the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen\, and served for ten years in the House of Representatives after being elected in 2001.\n\n \n\nAs a family business owner and attorney\, Polito has worked hard to promote jobs\, reduce red tape and promote economic development through public - private partnerships. She serves as Chair for the Governor's Council to reduce sexual assault and domestic violence\, leading a council to identify best practices and determine ways to help survivors reach physical and economic security and self-sufficiency. \n\n \n\nShe also chairs the Community Compact Cabinet\, which allows the Governor's Office to work directly with city and town leaders to strengthen municipal partnerships as part of the Baker-Polito Administration's focus on building stronger communities across our Commonwealth. \n\n \n\nLieutenant Governor Polito is a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury\, where she lives with her husband and two young children.\n\n \n\nThe lunch choice is Baked Haddock or Yankee Pot Roast.
