SUMMARY:A Walk into the Sea: Danny Williams and the Warhol Factory
DESCRIPTION:A documentary about the mysterious 1966 disappearance of Danny Williams and was produced by his niece Esther Robinson. Virtually an unknown fact today\, Danny Williams was Andy Warhol's lover and a promising young filmmaker at the time. The film includes 20 never-before-seen film shorts Williams made during his time at the Factory and what may be the earliest known footage of the Velvet Underground. In the film\, Robinson interviews surviving Factory members and quietly dismantles the Warhol myth-making machine\, allowing a deeper examination of the human fragility on which Warhol's empire was built.\n\n \n\n''Fascinating!''\nNew York Times\n\n\n''Engrossing…Fascinating stuff''\nNew York Magazine\n\n\n''A marvelous oral history of a time and place rarely explored with such unromantic honesty\, the haunting thing…is that it gently exposes the ultimately fatal psychic wounds that Danny Williams received at the Factory and those he brought with him.''\nThe New York Sun\n\nFree\, no tickets required.
