SUMMARY:A Chosen Place: Walker Hancock and Friends
DESCRIPTION:Of all the sculptors to have chosen Cape Ann as their place\, from the mid-19th century through today\, Walker Hancock (1901-1998) stands head and shoulders above all others. A quiet and dignified man\, dedicated to his family\, his community and his art\, Hancock's work has earned the sculptor a status few others have achieved. The Cape Ann Museum is honored to present a selection of his work in this gallery\, a gathering of pieces spanning the decades\, works done on commission as well as for pure enjoyment.
